About Newport

Newport is the gateway that links England and Wales and is the third largest urban area in Wales. It is set on the Western bank of the Severn Estuary, with the River Usk flowing through its centre.

It has a population of about 150,000 people and the county borough covers 84 square miles.

Newport is the first major town inside the South Wales border and is proud to be Welsh. The Welsh Flag can be seen flying in many places.
